We look forward to the grand opening of the Club this season, the Tokeneke Club is again offering a fun-filled summer camp for our young members.  For children ages 3 to 10, summer camp consists of a 5-day week (new this year) and will be offered for six one week sessions.  Camp begins Monday, June 27th and runs through Friday, August 5th.   Please register ASAP so we can properly staff our camp and prepare for summer fun.  If you are unsure of the week(s) you child(ren) can attend please register and we can adjust at a later date.
The camp program consists of our traditional Beach Camp and our successful Adventure Club program.
As in the past, children will be divided into groups based on their level in school:
Sea Stars – for children entering or currently enrolled in preschool (must be 3 by April 1st and potty trained)
Dolphins – for children entering kindergarten
Bluefish – for children entering 1st and 2nd grade
Adventure Club – for children entering 3rd, 4th and 5th grade
Emily Ciffone will not be returning as Camp Director.  We wish Emily and her family well and thank her for the  hard work over the past five years making it an fun-filled experience for our children.

We are pleased to announce that we have hired Ryan Henderson as Tokeneke's new Camp Director.  Ryan started working with children when he was 17 at King School in the after school program.   He has been a Senior Counselor at Camp Play land in New Canaan for seven years.  After earning his undergrad degree he worked at Chelsea Piers as a swim and rock climbing instructor while also hosting birthday parties and events. While interning at Julia Stark School in Stamford, Ryan received his Masters Degree in Education and now teaches 4th grade at Northeast School in Stamford.  He loves to travel – having spent 6 weeks in Europe 2 years ago where he visited Poland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and the Netherlands. Ryan looks forward to meeting each and every parent and learning how he can make the Tokeneke Camp experience amazing for all the campers.

Joining Ryan this summer are returning counselors:  Brittany Osborn as Assistant Camp Director (Brittany is completing her undergrad at Skidmore in Primary Education and Early Childhood Education),  Ellie Denson, Kallie Coughlin, Nicole Schmidt, Ellen Fergusen and Grant Duncan.

As always, our weeks will be filled with sports, arts, crafts, swimming, games, music, dance, beach fun and all sorts of other exciting things.  We will celebrate the end of summer camp with our Talent Night & Art Show (Date to be determined) where the campers will put on an entertaining evening for the whole family.  In late May a calendar of our weekly themes and special events will be mailed home and made available on our website.  And remember, camp is held rain or shine – we can always find something fun to do!
Campers will have daily swim lessons with their friends – this is part of the camp fee; there is no extra charge.   There will also be plenty of time for free swim alongside favorite counselors.  We are also planning a camper swim meet to give everyone a chance to win gold!  Camp also offers peanut tennis for our younger campers Monday and Wednesday.

Because of the positive feedback we received last summer, we will continue our weekly emails alerting you to upcoming camp activities and events as well as end of the week recaps with photos.
A link to camp registration is below, please fill in all pertinent information.  Also linked below is the mandatory emergency medical form and health form.
The Beach Camp Committee will hold an ice cream social for campers and parents, date to be determined. This social will give campers a chance to get to know one another and meet a few of the counselors.  This is also a great time for parents to ask any questions they might have.
We look forward to another great summer at Tokeneke Summer Camp!  Please feel free to give us a call with any questions or suggestions.
